Vacancy: Community Payback Placement Supervisor - Unpaid Work (UPW)

Reports To: Community Payback Manager
Main Purpose of Post:
Work collaboratively with Case Managers and Placement Coordinators to ensure that the Order of the court is delivered and unpaid work (UPW) is completed within 12 months. Contribute to risk of harm assessment by sharing relevant timely information with Case Managers. Deliver the Interchange model by using the work placement as a vehicle to develop skills and encourage positive behaviours of service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with service users with the aim of delivering the order of the court, using CP to bring about change with service users to prevent further offending and protect the public

- Supervise groups of service users on work placements
- Complete after every session observations of skills used by service users on work placement as part of the Record of Achievement
- Work collaboratively with peer mentors to encourage compliance, engagement and access to local networks
- Monitor and motivate service users to enable successful completion of unpaid work within 12 months
- Ensure that work placement hours are credited in a timely fashion
- Comply with children and adult safeguarding duties through sharing of relevant information to other agencies to promote the welfare of children and adults
- Work together as a team, with Community Payback Case Managers to share practice, knowledge of community networks and skills to promote a strong team ethos
- Demonstrate collaborative working with the Flex Team particularly in relation to Multiple Requirement Orders
- Perform other duties commensurate with the post as from time to time may be determined by the line manager, Director or above

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Humberside, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company Limited (HLNY CRC Ltd)
HLNY CRC Ltd manages approximately 5,000 low to medium risk offenders. We work closely with our colleagues in the National Probation Service and other partnership agencies to ensure that we meet our aims of protecting the public and rehabilitation of offenders.
Within Lincolnshire, Scunthorpe and Grimsby, the Community Payback Team are responsible for approximately 550 service users sentenced to an unpaid requirement; Court Orders can range between 40 to 300 hours.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive, friendly and capable team based at HMP Lincoln; but covers a large geographical area operating from satellite offices across Greater Lincolnshire (Grantham, Spalding, Boston, Skegness, Lincoln, Grimsby and Scunthorpe).
The role involves supervising offenders sentenced to Unpaid Work Orders by the courts. As a Community Payback supervisor you will work closely with offenders on visible community payback projects to make a difference in the local communities. The successful applicants will possess leadership skills to manage groups and the ability to teach skills whilst also holding them to task. Practical skills are desirable to enable you to supervise a range of tasks such as gardening, ground work, painting & decorating, to achieve quality work equivalent to an acceptable DIY standard.
You must be an effective communicator with a good level of literacy and the ability to work to set deadlines. Training will be provided in the form of shadowing an experienced Supervisor, as well as Pro Social Modelling, H&S and First Aid at Work training. A sound knowledge of safe working practices is desirable along with an ability to work alone with diverse groups of people. You should possess a current driving licence (Cat B), and have use of a car to travel to various locations.
