The Board of directors is responsible for the strategic direction, policy and corporate governance of the organisation. The local annual business plan sets out local priorities and objectives designed to meet contractual requirements and to provide sound effective probation services throughout Humberside, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire, within a nationally determined budget.
The Board consists of two non-executive directors, the Chief Executive and the Head of Corporate Services.
Chris Cook - Non Executive Member
Chris is the lead Non-Executive Director on the Company Board for the CRC.
Prior to this, Chris was Chair of the Board for Lincolnshire Probation Trust from April 2004 until it was formally dissolved earlier this year.
Chris worked for Lincolnshire Police for 32 years and retired in December 2003 in the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent, Head of Crime Support Department. His responsibilities included the investigation of major and serious crime, crime intelligence, drugs, child protection, complex fraud and other associated crime matters. During the latter period of his police career, Chris was a member of a number of Association of Chief Police Officers’ national committees, focussing on homicide and forensic issues.
In November 2009 he was appointed the Independent Chair of the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board. The Board is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing how the relevant organisations in Lincolnshire will co-operate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in the county and for ensuring the effectiveness of what they do. The Chair has a crucial role in making certain that the Board operates effectively and secures an independent voice for the LSCB.
Chris is also a member of the Lincolnshire Children and Young Persons Strategic Partnership and also a co-opted independent member of the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel. In addition he is also the Chair of the Public Protection Board for Lincolnshire.
Ruth Dyble - Non Executive Member
Ruth is a graduate who has spent 15 years working in the leisure sector. She has worked for a number of companies but the bulk of her career was spent with “Bass” (now Micthells & Butler Plc). During this time she was integral in the development of a national, branded chain of multi-activity centres focused around ten-pin bowling. Her final role was as Director/General Manager for that brand, now with a turnover in excess of £40mil, overseeing marketing operations, acquisitions, Human Resources, maintenance and facilities.
Ruth brings to the role a wealth of experience as she was a board member for York and North Yorkshire Probation for several years before it ceased on the 31 of May 2014. Ruth has also served as a magistrate and as an Independent Monitoring Board Member.
